Not Extinct: The Przewalski's Horse Returns from Extinct in the Wild

This book traces the effort to save Przewalski’s horse, also called the P-horse, after the species nearly disappeared in the early twentieth century. In 1959, an international effort began with a small population descended from 12 founding horses. Over more than 60 years, scientists worked to breed the horses and establish wild herds again on the steppes of Mongolia and China.
