My Indigo World

Rosa Chang begins with childhood memories of blue in Korea, from the changing sky to her hanbok’s striped sleeves and the sea. As an adult in the United States, she grows indigo with friends on a cooperative farm. They raise the plants from seed, harvest leaves, and produce dye for garments and other fabrics. The book also connects indigo to cultural heritage, healing, worldwide uses, and its history in the United States.
