Miya Wears Orange

Miya loves attending school, especially storytime. During one class, her teacher tells a painful history about a girl taken to a residential school. The girl cannot return home, has her hair cut, and is prevented from keeping her favorite doll. Miya’s story explores the complicated feelings that arise as she learns about residential schools and this history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
