Luis Paints the World
Terry Farish
Luis does not want his brother Nico to leave for Army service. Hoping to show Nico what he would be leaving behind, Luis starts painting a mural on an alley wall. His images include their house, the river, Parque de las Ardillas, his mother’s flan, and the baseball games played in the street. While Nico is away, Luis waits for his return and his world broadens through painting and support from their Dominican neighborhood.
