Jack’s Worry

Jack loves playing trumpet and has eagerly anticipated his first recital. On the morning of the performance, however, he wakes with a Worry that grows as the day begins. Attempts to make it go away, including playing his trumpet, do not help. When Jack identifies the fear inside it—that a mistake could change his mother’s love—she reassures him. The Worry remains, but becomes manageable after he gives it a name and understands it.
