I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm

Lyric, a Black high school senior who has moved through foster care, is building a presence as a makeup influencer and hopes to study cosmetology. Christmas is especially difficult for her. Juniper, another Black senior, is worried about whether her reunited mothers will remain together and is keeping plans for a post-graduation trip to herself. When the girls meet, they develop a beauty-influencer business venture and a romantic relationship. Their story is told through alternating prose and free-verse chapters.
