Hector the Collector

Hector keeps an acorn collection in his school desk, where his teacher discovers it. His classmates tease him until they learn that collections can take many forms, including coins, stuffed animals, songs, seashells, paintings, and library books. The book contrasts a private collection with collections meant to be shared, such as museum art and public-library books. Pencil, watercolor, and ink illustrations accompany Hector's experience.
