Ghosts Come Rising

Set in mid-nineteenth-century America, this story takes place during the spread of Spiritualism, a movement whose followers believed the living could communicate with the dead. Twelve-year-old Liza Carroll and her younger brother stay at a frightening Spiritualist commune. There, they look for answers while trying to keep a secret hidden. Ghostly black-and-white photographs accompany the historical tale.
