Frederick’s Journey: The Life of Frederick Douglass

This account follows Frederick Douglass’s life and his pursuit of equal rights. Born into slavery, he is separated from his mother as an infant and from his grandparents at age six. The book uses dramatic illustrations and includes words quoted from Douglass himself to tell his story. It focuses on the experiences that shaped his life as well as his continuing struggle for equality.
