Five Little Friends: A Collection of Finger Rhymes

This collection of finger plays combines familiar and new rhymes with directions suggested through illustrations. Each poem invites children to use fingers, hands, or whole-body movements as they follow its images and rhythms. The verses range across subjects such as planting seeds, ships, dinosaurs, snow, bubbles, water slides, and elevators. In “One Seed, Two Seed,” hands act out planting while the artwork follows seeds, rain, and sunshine. The illustrations also show people with varied hair, skin, and disabilities.
