Feathered Serpent and the Five Suns

In this Mesoamerican creation myth, the gods try across successive suns, or ages, to create humans, but their attempts do not last. As the other gods grow tired, Quetzalcóatl, the Feathered Serpent, continues. He undertakes a dangerous quest to recover sacred bones that will become the foundation of human life. The story follows the god’s persistence within a mythic account of humanity’s creation.
