Fox and Little Tanuki

Senzou is a fox spirit whose misuse of extraordinary powers led to more than three centuries of imprisonment. When the gods finally release him, they set a condition for the return of his magic: he must help a young tanuki named Manpachi become a magical assistant. Senzou, once an overwhelming force, must now care for a mischievous tanuki cub. The story follows this unlikely pair as Senzou’s chance to regain his abilities depends on helping someone else. It draws on a world of gods, animal spirits, magic, and consequences.
