In a harsh postapocalyptic world, Jeet has been raised by wild dogs after they killed his parents. He is later captured and subjected to a process of being rehumanized. Now he lives among people in one of the world’s only two remaining human communities. Although its walls offer protection, the settlement is under siege, leaving Jeet’s safety uncertain. The novel follows his struggle to survive within a devastated world and a community whose security is threatened.
