Death in the Dark

In London during 1942, nightly air raids and blackouts create the backdrop for a historical mystery. A murderer targets women and disappears in the darkness amid the war. After seventeen-year-old Mary Churchill discovers that her new friend Evelyn has been murdered, she begins investigating. Her search leads to further deaths that share disturbing details: the victims are women, they have been strangled and mutilated, and the cases are connected. The story follows Mary as she pursues the killer during wartime London.
