Daughters of Jubilation

Evalene “Evvie” Deschamps draws on magical powers inherited through generations of Black women. She must protect herself from a man who assaulted her in childhood and has returned to find her. Alongside this danger, Evalene looks after two younger sisters, lives with an overworked single mother, and is navigating a longtime crush that may finally be reciprocated. The story brings inherited magic and a fight for safety into a family life shaped by care, responsibility, and enduring connections among women across generations.
