Daring: The Life and Art of Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun

This biography follows French portrait painter Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, born in 1755. After her father died when she was twelve, she faced financial insecurity and sought access to artistic training and work. She became a prominent painter in Paris and elsewhere in Europe, working in a male-dominated field and becoming court painter to Marie Antoinette.
