Thirteen-year-old Audrey meets another teenager at a wilderness camp in the desert. Each believes their quirks will make friendship difficult. While travelling on foot through a demanding landscape, they become friends and recognize how they can support one another. Audrey has stopped trusting friendships, and the camp’s team experience raises the possibility that she can regain that trust. The book addresses bullying and physical and mental challenges.
