Lucy Stulligross expects a dull summer while her best friend is at camp and she has chores at home. Her town plans to restore an old carousel for its 150th anniversary, bringing artist Ray and Ray’s daughter, Anaïs, to town. Lucy finds Anaïs easy to talk with and begins to feel more comfortable with herself after being judged for her appearance and interests. At the same time, a development company’s plans create conflict among local residents.
