Camp Prodigy
Caroline Palmer, illustrated by Caroline Palmer
Tate attends Camp Prodigy, a summer orchestra camp, while struggling with confidence as the weakest musician at school. They find it difficult to stand up to friends, to come out as nonbinary to family, and to perform a solo. At camp, Tate meets Eli, the violist who first inspired them to play. Eli has concealed their own musical ability after a nervous breakdown brought on by time in the spotlight. Together, the two young musicians face questions of identity, anxiety, and fear.
