Breath of the Dragon (Breathmarked series)

Sixteen-year-old Jun wants to enter the Guardian’s Tournament, a contest held every six years to choose the protector of the magical Scroll of Heaven. He believes victory could repair the damage caused by the mistake that exiled his family from his home, mother, and twin brother. His father forbids him to compete, and Jun lacks the dragon-scale mark that gives his twin special powers. Meanwhile, a magic-based class system has split the land in two.
