This picture-book biography follows meteorologist Joanne Simpson, whose discoveries helped explain how weather works. As a child, she sailed beneath the clouds of Cape Cod; later, as a pilot, she flew her plane high among them. During World War II, after moving to the University of Chicago, she was asked to teach Air Force officers about clouds and weather-changing winds.
