BEAR AND FRED: A WORLD WAR II STORY

Bear and Fred is based on the true story of Fred, a Jewish boy who must leave home and live in hiding during World War II, separated from the rest of his family. The narrative is told through Bear, Fred’s stuffed teddy bear and companion. As Fred remains in hiding, he keeps Bear with him. A historical note and an author’s note provide additional context about Fred’s experience during the war period.
