Bea's Balikbayan Box of Treasures

Seven-year-old Bea and her Filipina-American family prepare a balikbayan box for relatives in the Philippines. Over months, they collect particular gifts, including food for Tito Rico, lotion for Tita Alma, and bubble wands, chocolates, and stuffed animals for Bea’s cousins. Once the box is sent, Bea waits for its overseas journey to finish. Through the tradition, she learns how sending a box can maintain a connection with faraway family.
