This history follows the Crispus Attucks High School basketball team in 1950s Indianapolis, including coach Ray Crowe and player Oscar Robertson. The school had been created to segregate Black students and was overcrowded and underfunded. The Attucks Tigers became the first all-Black team to win the Indiana state championship in 1955. Their success challenged racism and segregation in the city and helped prompt its desegregation. Photographs and newspaper clippings appear throughout.
