Blacklisted!: Hollywood, the Cold War, and the First Amendment

This informational account follows nineteen men from the film industry who were summoned before the House Committee on Un-American Activities during the Cold War. They believed the investigation of their political views and personal associations violated First Amendment rights. When the first ten refused to provide the answers the committee sought, they were cited for contempt of Congress and blacklisted. The book includes an author’s note, bibliography, and source notes.
