Angélica and La Güira

After spending the summer with relatives in the Dominican Republic, Angélica prepares to return home and begin school elsewhere. Her grandfather gives her a güira, an instrument that immediately captures her interest, although others initially do not understand her enthusiasm. Later, in Washington Heights, Angélica demonstrates the instrument’s sound and energy to her neighbors amid the activity of the neighborhood.
