A Skeleton in the Closet

Twelve-year-old Mizzy wants to become a detective despite her reputation for telling tall tales, her fear of escalators, and the way others underestimate her because she has Down syndrome. Sent to stay with cousins for the summer, she finds Great Aunt Jane’s diaries inside a locked wardrobe. The diaries suggest that Jane’s death was not natural and that a family member may have been involved. Mizzy investigates under the cover of a school family-tree project, using the case to prove herself to both her cousins and the wider family.
