Benny on the Case
Wesley King
Benny, who has Mosaic Down syndrome, lives with his mother at the retirement home she runs in Newfoundland. As he enters a mainstream classroom after years in special education, he encounters teasing and prejudice. He befriends Salma, another new student, who is treated as an outsider in the small community. When several retirement-home residents, including Salma’s grandmother, are robbed, Benny asks Salma to help investigate and catch the thief.
