Yossel’s Journey

Yossel’s family leaves Russia to escape anti-Jewish pogroms and begins again in the American Southwest. Their new store stands near a Navajo reservation, where Yossel watches people from the neighboring community come through. Concerned about finding a home and friends in this unfamiliar place, he meets a friend and shares cultural differences. The story follows the family’s migration, Yossel’s adjustment to a new home, and an early friendship across distinct cultural backgrounds.
