Who Wants a Tortoise?

For her birthday, a girl receives a tortoise when she had wanted a puppy instead. She is disappointed by her unexpected pet at first. She and the tortoise later take skateboard rides, decorate its shell with sparkles, and run a lemonade stand where people can pay to hold a tortoise. These activities change how she feels about the pet, though not entirely. Watercolor-and-pencil illustrations accompany the story.
