This picture-book biography follows Ada Byron, later known as Ada Lovelace, from her early life in the nineteenth century. The daughter of poet Lord Byron, she studied science and mathematics from a young age. Combining imagination with mathematics and engineering, she developed as a thinker described as both mathematician and philosopher. Her work later came to be recognized as the beginning of computer programming, long before computers existed.
