Weird Sad and Silent

Ten-year-old Daisy tries to make herself invisible after living with her mother’s violent former boyfriend. At school, bullies target her, so she avoids the cafeteria, eats with the librarian, and counts when anxiety rises. A new boy befriends Daisy and is able to stand up to the bullies. Meanwhile, a stray cat Daisy has been feeding begins to trust her. These new connections offer Daisy a chance to look toward the future instead of hiding.
