We Are the Wildcats

Over the twenty-four hours before the Wildcats’ first varsity field hockey game of the season, six team members tell the story from their own perspectives. The players come to see how their coach uses manipulation and intimidation to control them. As they face those tactics together, the high school team begins to organize a response and resist his authority. The novel centers the pressure within a competitive school sport and the girls’ decision to stand up to their coach.
