Turtle under Ice

This novel in verse follows two Filipino Chamorro American teenage sisters as they live with grief after their mother’s death. The sisters have withdrawn into separate parts of their lives, each trying to understand how to continue in a world without her. Their grief changes again after the death of a miscarried half-sister. The story explores the sisters’ evolving loss, their relationship with one another, and the cultural identities that shape their family.
