Time for Bed, Old House

Isaac is spending the night at Grandpop’s house for the first time. Although he is excited, the unfamiliar overnight visit also feels scary. Grandpop involves him in a special evening custom: getting the house ready for bed. Together, they use that routine to make the experience more enjoyable. Watercolor illustrations accompany this story about a young Black child, a first sleepover, and time with a grandparent.
