Those Kids from Fawn Creek

Orchid Mason arrives as a mysterious new student at Fawn Creek K–12, a school in a small Louisiana town. Her presence unsettles the established cliques, alliances, friendships, and secrets among her classmates. As the social order shifts, the students begin to consider their identities and choices in ways they had not before. The novel centers on how one newcomer’s arrival changes a closely connected school community and prompts its students to look more closely at themselves and one another.
