The Voting Booth

On their first eligible Election Day, politically active Black teenagers Marva and Duke meet at a polling place. When Duke is denied a ballot, Marva commits herself to helping make sure his vote counts. During the same day, the pair deal with election problems, breakups, and a missing cat as a relationship between them develops. Duke also has a paid band performance planned for that night.
