The True History of Lyndie B. Hawkins

Set in 1985 Tennessee, this story follows Lyndie B. Hawkins, the daughter of a veteran and an avid student of Civil War and family history. Her interest in uncovering the past conflicts with a grandmother determined to keep secrets, including secrets connected to Lyndie’s father and the help he needs. Lyndie also copes with difficult relatives and challenges at her southern parochial school, with support from two friends and caring adults.
