The Sky at Our Feet

Jason learns that his Afghan mother has been living in the United States without legal status since his father was killed in Afghanistan. Though Jason was born in the country, fear of separation makes his sense of belonging uncertain. When officers take his mother from her workplace, he heads to New York City hoping to find a family friend. At Penn Station, the scale and bustle of the city leave him questioning whether he can manage alone, until Max offers help.
