When her grandmother, Dadi, arrives from Pakistan to live in Houston, Maha’s journalism class is assigned a documentary film. She considers using Dadi’s experiences during the 1947 division of India and Pakistan as its subject. The project begins conversations that create a bond between Maha and Dadi as Dadi tells her story.
