The Pain Eater

Maddy Malone has kept silent about being raped by boys at her school. Although she initially wanted desperately to tell someone, shame and intimidation leave her trying to conceal what happened. At the start of a new school year, she attempts to push away the memories through self-inflicted cuts and cigarette burns. The story follows Maddy as she gradually begins to confront the pain she has tried to bury and deal with its aftermath.
