The Mortification of Fovea Munson
Mary Winn Heider
Fovea Munson’s parents run a cadaver lab, where they operate on dead bodies, and her classmates associate her with the work. When her summer-camp plans collapse, Fovea has to work at the lab as its receptionist. There, she discovers that not everything in the building is lifeless. The story follows Fovea as she deals with being judged at school, an unexpected summer job, and the strange developments at her parents’ workplace. Black-and-white cartoon illustrations appear throughout.
