The Longest Storm
Dan Yaccarino
During a mysterious storm, a father and his three children remain indoors for days. Boredom gives way to arguments and frayed tempers, and each person wants space from the others. When lightning cuts the power one night, they all end up together in Dad’s bed and apologize. Although the storm continues outside the next morning, the household has changed: anger passes quickly, and daily life indoors begins to improve. Eventually, the weather clears as well.
