The Island of Beyond

Eleven-year-old Martin is sent to spend the summer with his great-aunt Lenore on the tiny island of Beyond. His father hopes the trip will interest him in sports and the outdoors, but Martin’s life is shaken up when he must unplug and leave his usual world behind. On the off-grid island, he encounters forest animals, family secrets, and discoveries about himself. The story follows a summer away from home that changes Martin’s understanding of family and place.
