The House on the Canal: The Story of the House That Hid Anne Frank

A tall, narrow house with a green door on an Amsterdam canal tells its four-century history. Built in 1635, it has been home to a stonemason, a woman raising twelve children during plague, a merchant and his wife, and many later families. It has also served as a stable and a chemist’s workplace, survived a fire, and stood empty at the start of World War II. Later, it became the hiding place of Anne Frank and her family.
