The Funeral
Matt James
Norma attends the funeral of her great-uncle Frank, where she sees her younger cousin Ray and misses a day of school. She is not overwhelmed by grief, while adults around her hug, cry, and look somber. During the service, Ray asks whether Uncle Frank is still a person, and Norma has no answer. The cousins later play outside, away from the serious atmosphere. After looking at a photograph of Frank, Norma reflects on the funeral.
