The Frog Mother (Mothers of Xsan series)

Gitxsan people regard Nox Ga’naaw, the frog mother, as a storyteller who speaks truths about the universe. She places her eggs among plants in a pond, after which the tadpoles must survive by themselves. The book explains the Columbia spotted frog’s life cycle in northwestern Canada, adds bright illustrations, and provides back matter.
