The Creature of the Pines (Unicorn Rescue Society series)

Elliot Eisner starts at a new school and is not looking forward to his first day. His class takes a field trip to the Pine Barrens, a forest that seems unsettling to him. During the trip, Elliot and fellow student Uchenna accompany an eccentric professor and become involved with a secret society. The story follows their unexpected discovery beyond the classroom, with mixed-media illustrations accompanying the adventure in and around the forest.
