Sweet Home Alaska

In 1934, during the Great Depression, eleven-year-old Terpsichore leaves Wisconsin when her father joins President Roosevelt's Palmer Colony project. Her family travels to Alaska to become pioneers and start over. Although the move brings rough conditions and many hardships, Terpsichore resists letting them define the experience. As the family settles into its new surroundings, she grows to love Alaska and works with determination to keep her family there.
