Sunlight Playing Over a Mountain

Fifteen-year-old Jasmine Cheng has been raised by her single mother on elaborate stories and fantasies. Jasmine tries to drive away her mother’s partners because love has brought disruption and frightening episodes into their home. When Cal, an old flame, returns, their fragile arrangement breaks apart. Jasmine sets off for the West Coast and searches for what is true in her mother’s stories, even as dishonesty widens the distance between them.
